VyStar is seeking motivated interns to join the VyStar Insurance Agency (VIA) for hands-on experience in the insurance industry. This internship offers the opportunity to actively participate in the day-to-day operations of a dynamic agency, providing client service and contributing to sales growth. You will gain practical knowledge of insurance products, client engagement, and operational processes while working alongside experienced professionals. This position is based in Jacksonville, Florida and requires the ability to travel to VyStar’s downtown tower location. The program runs for 9 weeks, beginning the first week of June and ending the first week of August.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree at an accredited college/university
  • Rising college juniors, seniors, graduate students, or thrive scholars
  • Active Florida 440 CSR, 2044 Personal Lines, or 220 General Lines license OR ability to obtain a license within the first week of the program.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred fields: Risk Management, Insurance, Finance, or Business Administration.
  • GPA of 3.0+ preferred
  • Participation in college organizations and community activities is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Client Service Support: Assist with policy inquiries, renewals, and coverage updates to ensure exceptional member experience.
  • Sales Opportunity Development: Identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities during client interactions and support agents in generating new business leads.
  • Operational Involvement: Participate in processing policies, managing documentation, and learning compliance requirements.
  • Agent Collaboration: Shadow insurance sales agents and actively contribute to client meetings, learning how products are marketed and sold.
  • Market Research: Conduct research to support targeted marketing campaigns and identify growth opportunities.
  • Team Engagement: Join team meetings, collaborate on projects, and contribute ideas to improve service and sales strategies.
