The VTL Operator position involves operating and maintaining vertical turning lathe machines to produce high-quality components. This role is essential for ensuring precision in manufacturing processes and adherence to specifications, contributing to the overall quality of the products produced.

  • Operate and monitor VTL machines to produce components based on precise specifications.
  • Set up machines, including installing workpieces, tools, and fixtures.
  • Adjust machine settings, such as speed, feed, and depth of cut, to optimize performance.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and machining instructions.
  • Verify dimensions and tolerances to ensure precision and adherence to job requirements.
  • Inspect finished parts using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Identify and address machining defects or irregularities to maintain product quality.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot VTL machines to ensure optimal performance.
  • Report malfunctions or repair needs to supervisors or maintenance teams.
  • Experience operating vertical turning lathe (VTL) machines.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Familiarity with quality assurance processes and measuring tools.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of CNC machining processes.
  • Competitive pay ranging from $26 to $31 per hour based on experience.
  • Consistent hours with a schedule of Friday to Sunday, 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
  • Opportunity for permanent employment after the temp-to-hire period.
  • Referral bonus of $125 for referring a Skilled Division employee and $200 for referring a Welding Division/CNC Machinist after 80 hours of work.
  • $50 advance available after the first day of work.
