What you’ll do Operate Vertical Turret Lathes , manual engine lathes , and horizontal boring mills to machine large pump components: cases, impellers, wear rings, bearing housings, shafts, and covers. Consistently achieve +/− 0.001" tolerances. Lay out work, interpret blueprints, and select proper tooling/feeds/speeds based on metal properties. Compute angles, radii, bolt circles, and complex dimensions accurately. Perform planing and boring on horizontal pump casings (nice to have). Use overhead cranes to move and stage large parts safely. What we’re looking for Minimum 3 years of manual machining (shop or field); 5 years preferred . Blueprint literacy and proven track record holding close tolerances. Journeyman machinist or military Machinist’s Mate (or equivalent) preferred. Experience with pumps or rotating equipment strongly considered.
