About The Position

At Meta, we're pioneering the next generation of consumer mobile devices. We've already established leadership in AI and smart glasses with our Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley Meta lines-and that's only the beginning. Last year, we unveiled Orion, the most technologically advanced consumer device ever created, and we're now working to bring that groundbreaking experience to market. Delivering on this vision requires a next-generation operating system-one designed to push the boundaries of power efficiency and performance. Our software stack aims to set the new industry standard, and with the progress we've already made, we're well ahead of the curve. We are seeking an engineering leader to drive the development of the Wearables Operating System that powers Meta's smart glasses and future wearable devices. In this role, you will lead the team responsible for building and evolving this software stack, guiding it through every stage of our product launches. You'll collaborate closely with our Silicon and Device engineering teams to deliver the technology foundation that enables the next generation of Meta wearables. We are looking for a leader with a solid technical foundation and experience effectively leading large software organizations.

Requirements

15+ years of technical industry experience
10+ years of management experience
Experience as VP or C-level of an engineering organization at a company operating at scale
Experience managing and scaling organizations
Experience initiating and driving projects to completion with minimal guidance
Experience analyzing, interpreting, and leveraging data to make business decisions
Proven experience in communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

Nice To Haves

Experience with complex consumer electronics, like smartphones and wearable devices and Operating systems
Android Open Source Project (AOSP), Real-Time Operating System (RTOS) and embedded software
Experience building efficient and scalable build and release systems

Responsibilities
