About The Position

VP, Video Strategy & Operations Location: New York Reports to: Chief Growth Officer (initially); SVP & GM, Video (upon hire) Role Overview Dow Jones is seeking a senior, versatile video operator to help define, align, and scale video across the organization. This role will partner closely with the Chief Growth Officer during an initial phase of strategy development and operational alignment, and will transition to supporting a future SVP & GM responsible for Video as that leadership structure is formalized. The VP, Video Strategy & Operations will serve as a central architect and execution partner within Dow Jones’ evolving video ecosystem — bringing clarity to strategy, cohesion to operations, and momentum to delivery. The scope is intentionally broad. This is a builder role designed for someone who can move fluidly between strategy and execution: shaping the video roadmap, aligning stakeholders, improving operating models, and helping turn ambition into durable systems. As the video organization scales and budgets are approved, this role is expected to evolve into a management position with direct reports.

  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively across strategy, operations, and execution in complex media organizations.
  • Experience partnering productively with newsroom leadership and editorial teams.
  • Strong understanding of production workflows, studio operations, and content development processes.
  • Comfort collaborating with Legal, Finance, and Business Affairs without needing to lead those functions directly.
  • Highly collaborative, adaptable, and effective in roles that require influence, judgment, and trust rather than formal authority.

  • Act as a steady point of alignment as structures, teams, and responsibilities continue to take shape.
  • Programming & Editorial Collaboration Help shape creative lanes and programming priorities, including flagship shows, franchises, and premium series.
  • Partner closely with newsroom leaders to identify reporting, franchises, and talent well-suited for video formats.
  • Support pilot development and early programming initiatives in collaboration with editorial, product, and production teams.
  • Ensure all video initiatives reflect Dow Jones’ voice, authority, and editorial standards.

  • Cross-Functional Execution Serve as a connective leader across Editorial, Sales, Product, Technology, Legal, Finance, and Marketing.
  • Help ensure initiatives move forward with clear ownership, timelines, and follow-through.
