About The Position

Lead the investment function in a (financial sector) company, developing a portfolio of products and services, contributing to risk appetite determination, and coordinating and executing the investment management function. Job Description What You’ll Do (the role): Duties & Responsibilities: Manage investor presentations, benefit schedules and other relevant investor communication through funding Prepare detailed investment memos and presentations for transactions Lead negotiations with sponsor, sponsor legal counsel and investor legal counsel on commercial and tax deal points during the term sheet, financial closing and funding phases Tracking and coordinating third party deliverables and diligence items during the course of the transaction Maintaining accurate records during the negotiation and diligence phases to ensure deal teams are meeting their obligations and third parties are delivering timely Responsible for coordination with asset management team during the closing/funding process in anticipation of an efficient transition to post-closing, asset management process Assist asset management team with third parties on delivery of periodic reports, financials, tax returns to ensure capital provider obligations are satisfied Support initiatives to help the business in achieving its strategic objectives Travel for business and attend conferences as necessary Assist in the initial underwriting, modelling and due diligence of tax credit investments Support the sourcing of tax credit investment opportunities directly with sponsors and indirectly through brokers, investment banks and consultants Who we're looking for: Knowledge & General Skills Minimum Requirements Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including understanding of complex project finance models and ability to create well-organized presentations of information to formulate conclusions Understanding of renewable energy project finance transactions with an emphasis on tax credit structures (PTC/ITC, p-flip, inverted lease, hybrid, preferred equity, and transfers) Understanding of financial, tax, accounting, and investment concepts Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to create as well as deliver effective presentations Demonstrated experience conducting diligence and negotiating tax credit transactions Manages self and others to provide exceptional client service by responding with a sense of urgency, practicality, accountability, and integrity Ability to evaluate complex situations and independently make decisions on significant matters Self-motivated intellectual curiosity Why you’ll make a great member of the team: Personal Qualities Ability to work independently, deal confidently and build strong relationships Willingness to receive and accept feedback and improve Flexible attitude and the ability to multitask Strong time management / prioritization skills Excellent written, verbal communication and English skills Helpful, hardworking approach and a team player Unparalleled honesty and integrity At Raymond James our associates use five guiding behaviors (Develop, Collaborate, Decide, Deliver, Improve) to deliver on the firm's core values of client-first, integrity, independence and a conservative, long-term view. Requirements

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including understanding of complex project finance models and ability to create well-organized presentations of information to formulate conclusions
  • Understanding of renewable energy project finance transactions with an emphasis on tax credit structures (PTC/ITC, p-flip, inverted lease, hybrid, preferred equity, and transfers)
  • Understanding of financial, tax, accounting, and investment concepts
  • Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to create as well as deliver effective presentations
  • Demonstrated experience conducting diligence and negotiating tax credit transactions
  • Manages self and others to provide exceptional client service by responding with a sense of urgency, practicality, accountability, and integrity
  • Ability to evaluate complex situations and independently make decisions on significant matters
  • Self-motivated intellectual curiosity
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in renewable energy tax credit investing including financial modelling, negotiation of critical legal documents and reviewing third-party reports
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics or related area
  • Ability to work independently, deal confidently and build strong relationships
  • Willingness to receive and accept feedback and improve

Nice To Haves

  • Experience leading renewable energy tax credit closings and fundings preferred
  • Exposure to non-renewable assets (natural gas, carbon capture, manufacturing, etc.) considered a plus
