Curious and innovative problem solvers looking for the chance to meaningfully shape the future of cardiac health, our company, and your career About This Role: The Vice President of Taxation & Treasury is a senior executive responsible for owning all aspects of the company’s global tax strategy, compliance, reporting, transfer pricing, and treasury operations. This role will build a tax and treasury function that aligns with business objectives while maintaining full compliance with IRS tax code, U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, SOX requirements, and global tax laws. The VP will partner closely within Finance, as well as Legal, Commercial, Corporate Strategy, Research & Development, Business Operations, and external advisors to support growth, corporate activities, and operational efficiency in a regulated medical device environment.

Requirements

  • At least 12 years of corporate tax, public accounting, and/or treasury experience.
  • CPA, JD, or MST preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of IRS tax code, global tax laws, ASC 740, SEC reporting, and SOX compliance.
  • M&A tax structuring and post-deal integration preferred but not required.
  • Experience in medical device or regulated manufacturing preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a global tax strategy aligned with business objectives and shareholder value.
  • Advise executive leadership on tax structures and implications of M&A, reorganizations, and supply chain changes.
  • Lead tax planning initiatives related to R&D credits, IP, and both domestic and international tax optimization.
  • Assess, engage and direct external advisors for strategic services supporting tax structure, planning, compliance and reporting.
  • Lead and develop processes, models and monitoring for tax rate and tax expenditure forecasting, uncertain tax reserves, and GILTI, FDII, Subpart F, Pillar 2, and other global areas of compliance.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and assess business impact.
  • Oversee global tax compliance over all taxation responsibilities including income, indirect, property, franchise, and withholding taxes. Prepared both internally and through external advisors.
  • Closely engage with external tax and legal advisors regarding required filings and positions.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of quarterly and annual tax provisions under ASC 740.
  • Lead the preparation and compliance with tax-related disclosures in SEC filings (Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K).
  • Oversee and guide the internal efforts over global tax compliance, audits and inquiries.
  • Lead decisions and efforts to incorporate software tools and AI enablement opportunities to enhance effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Own global transfer pricing strategy and documentation.
  • Align transfer pricing with operating and supply chain models.
  • Manage intercompany agreements and audit defense efforts.
  • Collaborating with external tax advisors as needed.
  • Oversee global cash management, liquidity, debt, and FX risk.
  • Develop policies for global cash management and intercompany funding.
  • Support financing activities and capital structure decisions, including oversight of convertible debt and other potential financing arrangements.
  • Lead the engagement, oversight and reporting associated with the Company’s corporate insurance programs, including claims reporting and analysis over insurance policy decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements.
  • Partner with Internal Audit and external auditors.
  • Maintain strong internal controls over tax and treasury processes.
  • Educate the Board of Directors and Senior Leadership with Tax planning and other considerations
  • Lead and develop a global tax and treasury team.
  • Advance the Company’s capabilities around in-sourcing its tax-related compliance and reporting responsibilities
  • Direct training and development opportunities and areas for professional growth for the internal team.
  • Manage external advisors and banking relationships.
