About The Position

The Manager, Transaction Banking & Payments, Finance will report into the Senior Manager, Transaction Banking & Payments, Finance. This is a newly created team which will play a critical role in shaping the finance workstream for the Transaction Banking Value Creation Plan, a high impact and strategically significant project for TD Bank which impacts three segments (CBB, AMCB, and TDS). This role will be accountable for the program-level financial transparency, risk identification, funding envelope governance together with the Project Management Office and benefits realization monitoring. The VP, Specialized Finance Manager, TDS provides seasoned specialized knowledge, advice and/or guidance to various stakeholders and team members in a specialized finance function or discipline. Requirements

  • Knowledge of the Bank's financial reporting systems (e.g. Hyperion, FRS, PSGL), MS Office and business intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau, Alteryx).
  • Ability to work through ambiguity
  • Expertise working effectively in teams
  • Excellent analytical skills in assessing risk, issues and challenging the status quo
  • 7+ years of relevant experience preferred
  • Undergraduate degree required

Nice To Haves

  • CBB Finance, AMCB Finance, Expense or Project Finance experience an asset
  • Post Graduate degree would be an asset.
  • Professional designation (MBA, CFA, or CPA) would be an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Financial/Strategic Oversight: Proactive value-added expertise and guidance supporting the Transaction Banking and Payments project from a finance lens and acting as a liaison to finance leads in the three segments impacted by the project (CBB, AMCB, and TDS)
  • Contribute to Financial planning, analysis, performance measurement and reporting for Transaction Banking & Payments
  • Supporting the allocation of costs across the segments
  • Setting up the GL structure for reporting an aggregated view working closely with finance leads in the three segments (CBB, AMCB, and TDS).
  • Reporting on the virtual segment including revenue, expenses, FTE, capital, leverage, and deposit management reporting.
  • Contribute to the financial forecasting and planning for the transformation programs working closely with finance leads in the three segments (CBB, AMCB, and TDS)
  • Participate in the development of Board and IR materials on the financial performance related to the transformation
  • Support the development of monitoring financial profitability of the program, including incremental revenue generated, working closely with finance leads in the three segments (CBB, AMCB, and TDS)
  • Focuses on comprehensive reviews, specialized analysis, audits and/or initiatives and a variety of complex projects and initiatives requiring seasoned specialist knowledge and/or the integration of cross functional processes within own area of expertise
  • Facilitates integration of several key functional areas and/or business lines in dealing and solving highly complex financial management/ specialized accounting / taxation / audit / regulatory reporting and operational issues
  • Acts as the primary interface with Finance partners /leaders and external parties
  • Acts as key contact and expert within area of expertise for the development, design and delivery of effective accounting/ taxation processes, policies, programs and advice
  • Maintains awareness of changing legal/regulatory requirements and practices within the industry and consults with policy/process owners within Accounting/ Taxation to ensure compliance
  • Engages, manages and influences internal/external cross-functional partners to develop/deliver integrated solutions
  • Accountable for the development and delivery of broad enterprise wide accounting/ taxation policies and initiatives, which may have significant regulatory components
  • Creates business cases and innovative recommendations
  • Executes on diverse and complex policies, implements and develops activities and tools for businesses.
  • Supports financial strategy and management activities
  • Adheres to enterprise frameworks or methodologies that relate to activities for our business area
  • Ensures respective programs/policies/practices are well managed, meets business needs, complies with internal and external requirements, and aligns with business priorities
  • Consistently exercisse discretion in managing correspondence, information and all matters of confidentiality; escalates issues where appropriate
  • Ensures business operations are in compliance with applicable internal and external requirements ( e.g. financial controls, segregation of duties, transaction approvals and physical control of assets)
  • Participates in cross-functional / enterprise / initiatives as a subject matter expert helping to identify risk / provide guidance for complex situations
  • Conducts internal and external research projects; supports the development/ delivery of presentations / communications to management or broader audience
  • Conducts meaningful analysis at the functional or enterprise level using results to draw conclusions, make recommendations, assess the effectiveness of programs/ policies/ practices
  • Monitors service, productivity and assesses efficiency levels within own function and implements continuous process / performance improvements where opportunities exist
  • Leads / facilitates and/or implements actions / remediation plans to address performance / risk /governance issues
  • Actively manages relationships within and across various business lines, corporate and/or control functions and ensures alignment with enterprise and/or regulatory requirements
  • Keeps abreast of emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assesses potential impacts
