As Vice President, Retail Strategy & Operations , you will set the strategic vision to continually optimize and evolve our retail network. This includes format strategy, store design, merchandising, operations, and real-estate delivery across every retail channel and format. You will champion innovative ideas that set us apart in the market, driving both growth and transformation. As a key member of the Consumer Group leadership team, you will design and execute forward-thinking retail merchandising strategies that support business objectives, elevate the customer experience, and maximize sales and profitability. You will also oversee company store programs that pilot new designs, concepts, and customer journeys. Un-carrier Responsibilities Develop and communicate a comprehensive retail network and format strategy that aligns with company goals, market trends, and customer preferences. Define the roadmap for evolving our retail network, including store counts, format mix, and geographic strategies. Identify opportunities for format innovation and differentiation, exploring new concepts, operational approaches, technologies, and design elements that enhance store aesthetics, layout, and business results. Lead and inspire a high-performing cross-functional team across merchandising, real-estate, operations, customer experience, and design functions. Foster a collaborative, high-standards, results-driven culture. Provide mentorship and professional development to enhance team capabilities and drive growth. Collaborate with departments to align merchandising strategies with broader objectives and ensure seamless execution. Develop and articulate a comprehensive retail merchandising strategy that aligns with the company's vision, brand, and financial goals. Guide the merchandising team to ensure a customer-centric product assortment and presentation. Collaborate with design and architecture teams to optimize store layouts and visual merchandising for customer experience and financial results. Cultivate partnerships with vendors and suppliers to secure terms and access innovative offerings. Use data to drive decisions. Develop and execute core operations with a focus on managing a $1.8B labor budget to ensure effective staffing across 2,500+ locations. Innovate labor planning and management in alignment with our digital transformation. Manage Real-Estate and construction teams to support fleet and format strategy. Develop a real-estate strategy aligned with fleet and format goals. Identify locations for builds, moves, and closures. Manage the construction and lease portfolio for all stores. Use data to drive decisions. Other duties and projects as assigned by business management as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Retail Management, or related field (Required)
  • 10+ years’ executive-level experience in retail operations (Required)
  • 4+ years’ experience with data analysis and performance tracking to enhance performance
  • 4+ years’ experience with digital enablement of retail experiences and integration with online sales/service environments
  • 4+ years’ experience building and iterating on new retail formats to progress a retailer’s Go-to-Market strategy
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities managing and motivating high-performing teams
  • Strong business acumen and data-driven mindset
  • Extensive knowledge of retail industry trends, consumer behavior, and the competitive landscape
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills with internal/external stakeholders
  • Strategic thinking, with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans and drive execution
  • Proven ability to achieve financial targets through effective retail merchandising strategies
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
