About The Position

Smartly.io is currently looking for a VP of Product to join our growing team! This product management leader will own one or more major product domains across creative tools, marketing science, and AI orchestration. They’ll be responsible for a significant portion of Smartly’s business as well as building a high-performing team of product managers. This leader will report into the Chief Product Officer and broadly shape the direction of Smartly. The role requires operating comfortably at both the executive and IC coach level given Smartly’s stage of growth. Effective partnership with R&D and Commercial teams is a given. This is a high-accountability role, perfect for a product leader who wants to build and scale with autonomy and speed.

Requirements

  • 10–15+ years in product management, including 3–5+ years leading PM teams.
  • Experience building and scaling B2B SaaS platforms.
  • Comfort operating in technically complex domains (adtech, AI, creative tooling, marketing tech).
  • A track record of shipping impactful features that drove revenue or adoption growth.
  • Strong business intuition and quantitative fluency.
  • Creative tooling (Figma, Canva, Adobe, Celtra, etc.)
  • Marketing science or measurement (Meta, Google, Amazon, etc.)
  • Generative AI or AI-enabled workflows
  • Cross-platform campaign management or orchestration systems
  • Prefer building over maintaining.
  • Are energized by ambiguous, high-impact problems.
  • Can zoom from high-level strategy to API-level detail.
  • Care about commercial outcomes, not just shipping features.
  • Want to be deeply involved in product decisions, not just people-manage

Responsibilities

  • Define and articulate a long-term strategy for your domain(s).
  • Translate Smartly’s AI-first ambition into tangible product bets.
  • Make principled tradeoffs between innovation and near-term revenue.
  • Drive discovery, validation, roadmap definition, and delivery.
  • Ensure clear product-market fit before scaling.
  • Tie initiatives directly to measurable business outcomes.
  • Influence revenue growth, retention, expansion, and margin.
  • Partner tightly with Sales and Customer Success to unlock expansion opportunities.
  • Ensure new features are differentiated, adopted, and monetizable.
  • Lead and coach a team of PMs across multiple squads and potentially managers down the road.
  • Raise the bar on product craft, prioritization rigor, and accountability.
  • Build bench strength and develop future leaders.
  • Dive into customer calls and product reviews.
  • Systematize clear product briefs.
  • Pressure test metrics and experiments.
  • Unblock cross-functional decisions.
