Clean Harbors is seeking a VP of Product Regulatory Compliance to lead our commitment to safety and environmental responsibility. This pivotal role involves developing and implementing compliance strategies that align with environmental regulations affecting our customer equipment, labels, and solvent chemistry. The VP will oversee the management of all product regulatory compliance documentation and distribution requirements, ensuring that our products meet mandated industry standards and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will also implement programs that promote healthy and safe working conditions across the organization. In this role, the VP will provide leadership in the development and execution of product compliance policies and procedures, guiding both branch field service and leadership teams. The position requires coordination of equipment changes, registrations, and alignment with OSHA's Hazardous Communication standard and the Global Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS). The VP will maintain compliance of labels, Safety Data Sheets (SDSs), and product support documentation with GHS, OSHA, and other regulatory requirements. Additionally, the VP will coordinate registrations for REACH and support research on international shipping requirements for products. A systematic review of existing environmental policies and procedures will be essential, along with the facilitation of new policy creation. The role also involves leveraging technology for effective data management and retrieval related to product compliance programs. Continuous improvement of regulatory compliance initiatives will be a focus, requiring comprehensive reviews of operational systems and product offerings. The VP will recommend environmental improvement programs and solutions to regulatory challenges, participate in corporate compliance initiatives, and support facility compliance managers with product compliance initiatives. Communication of significant regulatory issues to the SVP of Environmental Compliance will be necessary, along with the preparation of reports and maintenance of workpapers in accordance with professional standards. The design and implementation of a comprehensive product compliance assurance program in line with Federal, State, Local, and Provincial laws and company policies will be a key responsibility.
