About The Position

This role sits at the center of Bloom’s investment engine-leading deals from origination through execution and driving value creation within our portfolio companies. Leveraging deep private equity investing and operational experience, the VP/Principal will manage and drive Bloom’s efforts across the full investment lifecycle: thesis generation, deal sourcing, transaction execution, debt and equity capital raising, portfolio management, and exit. The VP/Principal will expand the firm’s reach by building trust-based relationships with key parties-management teams, investment bankers, advisors, limited partners, and portfolio company executives-while serving as a trusted partner to the senior leaders of the firm. This is a high-ownership role for a proven investor who is ready to lead deals, shape strategy, and build an enduring platform in enterprise software investing.

Requirements

  • 6–10 years of progressive private equity investment experience, ideally preceded by 2–3 years in investment banking or management consulting
  • Proven track record of leading enterprise software/business services buyouts in the lower-middle market
  • Superior business acumen and judgment to analyze investment opportunities, market dynamics, and company financials within the technology sector
  • Demonstrated ability to independently lead deal processes from origination through close
  • Strong relationships with intermediaries, investment bankers, operators, and advisors in the enterprise software ecosystem
  • Ability to flex both upwards and downwards - coordinating the investment process at a senior level while maintaining the highest quality of analytical execution
  • Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal) with the presence to engage credibly with founders, C-suite executives, board members, and limited partners
  • Hands-on, entrepreneurial leader who thrives in a small, high-autonomy team environment

Responsibilities

  • Source enterprise software and business services buyout opportunities through proprietary research, intermediary relationships, and direct outreach to founders and CEOs
  • Help shape investment team culture, recruiting strategy and analyst/associate development programs
  • Lead thematic research in relevant technology sub-segments to develop conviction around investment themes and target profiles
  • Set up and lead quantitative and qualitative due diligence on prospective investments, coordinating across internal teams and external advisors (legal, financial, commercial, technical)
  • Lead and oversee key functions of a transaction including financial modeling, investment committee memoranda, investor presentations, due diligence frameworks, and lender presentations
  • Manage relationships with key investment stakeholders—management teams, advisors, co-investors, and financing partners-and develop a deep sector-specific network
  • Lead negotiations of key transaction documentation (purchase agreements, shareholder agreements, management incentive plans, credit agreements) with support from internal and external counsel
  • Contribute to structuring and raising debt financing in partnership with lenders and capital markets advisors
  • Actively engage with the boards of portfolio companies with responsibility for post-closing value creation workstreams, strategic initiatives, and board materials
  • Monitor performance and risk profile of existing portfolio investments; prepare and present deal information by stage to the investment committee
  • Lead and mentor associates and analysts in developing financial models, managing diligence processes, and advancing professionally
  • Support fundraising and LP relations by building investor relationships, preparing fund reporting, and participating in LP meetings and co-investment processes
  • Contribute to Bloom’s client-related activities, firm-building initiatives, and internal strategic planning
