About The Position

This leadership role offers the opportunity to build and scale a high-performing global software engineering organization, delivering reliable SaaS and mobile products with speed and consistency. As VP of Software Engineering, you will own delivery outcomes across the development lifecycle, partner closely with architecture and product teams, and set engineering standards to ensure operational readiness, quality, and security. You will coach and mentor engineering leaders, influence technical decisions, and oversee multiple initiatives across distributed teams. This role emphasizes hands-on leadership, fostering innovation through AI-assisted workflows, and driving the organization toward efficient, scalable, and high-quality software delivery in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering or equivalent technical education and experience.
• 15+ years of hands-on software development experience, with strong understanding of design patterns, data structures, backend systems, APIs, and full software development lifecycle practices.
• 10+ years of experience designing and developing large-scale, reliable full-stack SaaS and mobile applications in cloud environments.
• 7+ years of experience leading engineering teams in remote and multi-time-zone settings.
• Strong expertise in relational data modeling, SQL/RDBMS, and full-stack technologies including PHP, Python, React, Node, Java, and AWS.
• Exceptional collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills; ability to influence distributed teams and drive execution.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and fast-paced iterative delivery environments.
• Proactive, self-motivated, solution-oriented, and able to establish best practices across teams.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in clinical research or healthcare technology, and knowledge of HIPAA, HITRUST, PHI/PII, PCI DSS compliance is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own delivery outcomes for cloud-based SaaS and mobile products, including release predictability, quality, reliability, and customer impact.
• Lead and develop engineering teams across multiple time zones, including technical leads and senior engineers.
• Partner with Product and QA teams to define scope, milestones, risks, readiness criteria, and post-release follow-through.
• Collaborate with architecture leadership to review designs, ensure scalability, security, maintainability, and align delivery with platform direction.
• Establish and enforce engineering standards, coding practices, code review processes, and operational readiness protocols.
• Implement AI-assisted engineering workflows to improve throughput, reduce rework, and maintain secure, auditable practices.
• Identify cross-team dependencies, execution bottlenecks, and provide guidance on integration and project alignment.
