The Vice President of Quality and Patient Safety at Methodist Hospital Texsan plays a crucial role in promoting high-quality, patient-centered care. This position oversees the Quality Management and Patient Safety Programs, as well as Performance Improvement initiatives across a complex organization that includes multiple service lines and campuses. The VP is responsible for ensuring the facilitation and utilization of diverse strategies and communication methods to enhance quality and performance improvement, providing an integrated framework for monitoring, evaluating, and improving the quality of care delivered to patients. In this role, the VP will drive facility-wide standardization in targeted process improvement initiatives, evaluating success through pre-established criteria and measurement tools. The position requires collaboration with all stakeholders to promote care excellence across the organization. The VP will lead strategy development for performance improvement, applying system thinking and safety science across various service lines and care settings. Additionally, the VP will develop and implement policies, procedures, and objectives, regularly reviewing and updating the Quality Improvement Plan to ensure alignment with hospital strategic plans and compliance with relevant regulations and standards. The VP will also collaborate with facility leadership to establish operational performance measurements and targets, monitoring trends in key performance indicators to evaluate effectiveness, reliability, and efficiency. This role includes leading and overseeing the quality department, managing members of the quality team, and developing and monitoring the department budget. The VP of Quality and Patient Safety is expected to contribute significantly to the hospital's mission of providing exceptional care and ensuring patient safety.
