About The Position

HireGlobal by Toptal makes it simple and cost-effective for companies to hire, pay, and manage global talent. As a new business within Toptal, HireGlobal combines the agility of a startup with the scale, resources, and operational excellence of one of the world’s largest fully distributed companies. This is a rare opportunity to build and scale a global payroll and contractor management platform from the ground up — with access to world-class engineering, design, and operational expertise. We’re looking for a self-starting, customer-obsessed VP of Product to own the product vision and lead HireGlobal’s end-to-end product strategy. This leader will shape the roadmap, scale the Product team, and partner closely with Engineering, Operations, Legal, Finance, Sales, and the General Manager to deliver a platform that is efficient, compliant, automated, and delightful for clients and workers worldwide. You will set the direction, drive alignment across teams, and guide the development of both our external product and internal operational tech stack. This is a remote position. Resumes and communication must be submitted in English.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; technical degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of Product Management experience, with at least 5+ years in B2B platforms
  • 3+ years of experience leading Product Managers or managing cross-functional product groups
  • Proven track record of owning and scaling complex B2B SaaS products — ideally in fintech, payments, HR tech, or payroll.
  • Experience working with third-party system integrations (payment processors, KYC vendors, banking APIs, etc.).
  • Comfortable working with SQL or spreadsheets to analyze data, as well as conducting research with internal and external users.
  • Deep experience using data, research, and experimentation to guide decisions.
  • Ability to collaborate with Design to review wireframes, simplify flows, and create intuitive user experiences.
  • Extremely high bar for clarity, quality, and detail in product specs.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly growing company and handle a wide variety of challenges, deadlines, and a diverse array of contacts.
  • Be humble, willing to learn, and do whatever is needed to help us accomplish our goals.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • You must be a world-class individual contributor to thrive at Toptal. You will not be here just to tell other people what to do.
  • Regularly and reliably attend scheduled virtual team meetings on camera.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Use all required digital collaboration tools.
  • Prioritize and self-manage workflows and deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for HireGlobal across global payments, onboarding, billing, and worker experiences.
  • Translate company goals into product objectives that drive growth, automation, and world-class user experience.
  • Build the product foundation needed to scale: operating rhythms, frameworks, prioritization systems, and strong cross-functional alignment.
  • Lead prioritization across teams, ensuring high-impact initiatives are clearly scoped and aligned with business goals.
  • Track progress, remove obstacles, assess risks, and proactively communicate trade-offs and mitigation plans.
  • Work closely with the engineering team to increase product velocity, stability, and technical quality.
  • Establish a repeatable, data-driven product delivery model that supports rapid iteration and continuous improvement.
  • Enable the team of Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers to do the best work of their careers.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, clarity, high standards, and customer-centric thinking.
  • Coach and mentor team members, provide feedback, conduct performance reviews, and implement performance improvement plans, if needed.
  • Establish objectives and initiatives for the team, recommend the team’s structure and jobs, and organize, assign, delegate, oversee, and monitor work.
  • Partner deeply with Operations, Compliance/Legal, Finance, Support, Sales, and Engineering to ensure product decisions reflect stakeholder input and regulatory requirements.
  • Establish credibility and trusted relationships across teams, balancing business needs with technical and compliance constraints.
  • Communicate strategy, decisions, and context clearly across the company.
  • Roll up your sleeves to write or refine user stories, problem statements, acceptance criteria, or PRDs.
  • Break down ambiguous, complex product areas into clear, actionable plans.
  • Apply system-analyst techniques to uncover functional requirements and workflow optimizations.

Benefits

  • participation in a 401(k) retirement plan
  • medical, dental, and vision health insurance plans
  • basic life insurance coverage and short-term and long-term disability coverage
  • access to flexible spending, dependent care, and health savings accounts
  • access to telehealth virtual doctors
  • an employee assistance program
  • flexible paid time off
