Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university.
• Twenty years’ related experience with ten years in a senior level construction management role or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft software programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Basic understanding of construction software such as Primavera, Timberline, Vista, and the like.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for both project and regional-level profit and loss.
• Responsible for maintaining positive cash flow at both project and regional levels.
• Assumes accountability for administering all functions related to retention including ensuring jobs are negotiated at less than 10% of contract value.
• Assumes accountability for overseeing change order process ensuring timely pricing and submission.
• Assumes accountability for functions related to billings ensuring no under billings and positive cash flow.
• Supports the management of SG&A (Selling, General, and Administrative) costs at the regional level.
• Guides and directs Operations Management in the development, productivity, promotion, and financial aspects of the organization’s projects and services.
• Maintains a sound plan of operational and associated support department organization.
• Performs post job customer satisfaction surveys and shares results with necessary team members.
• Regularly meet with subs and suppliers at an executive level to assess performance.
• Ensures project schedules and logistics plans have been developed and vetted for all bids.
• Ensures historical data has been used to develop aggressive but realistic production units to be used in bids.
• Regularly updates historical database in conjunction with Pre-Construction Management.
• Ensures there is a smooth transition and handoff of projects from the pre-construction to operations teams.
• Creates the structure and processes necessary to manage the organization’s current activities and its projected growth.
• Ensures that all organization activities and operations are carried out in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Forecasts hiring and staffing needs for operational positions based on the business plan/backlog.
• Is accountable for compliance with prevailing wage requirements, Project Labor Agreements, workforce utilization, MBE/SBE participation.
• Provides guidance, direction, coaching, and support to direct reports to maximize individual and overall department performance.
• Collaborates with HR to ensure compliance with employment laws, labor laws, and related Company policies.
