About The Position

As Tint’s Vice President of Operations, you’ll have the unique opportunity to shape the future of some of the highest-impact initiatives in the booming InsurTech industry. This role grants you substantial autonomy to navigate through complex challenges, transforming them into innovative and successful solutions. You will work cross-functionally as part of the leadership team and be involved in the early stages of the startup development and establishing the services culture and team at Tint. You will have a lot of ownership and drive ambiguous initiatives from 0 to 1. At Tint, you’ll have the unique opportunity to shape the future of insurance technology, enjoying significant autonomy to turn ambiguous challenges into successful innovations. If you’re eager to make a tangible impact in a rapidly evolving industry and lead the way in creating exciting protection solutions, we would love to hear from you.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of Operations leadership scaling teams, processes, and multi-function operations within high-growth technology startups; proven ability to manage end-to-end business units and performance outcomes.
  • 5+ years of insurance industry experience with a strong understanding of insurance operations, regulatory requirements, and compliance-driven workflows.
  • Experience operating within an MGA model, including cross-functional coordination across underwriting, claims, customer support, and partner ecosystems.
  • Proven ability to leverage consumer insights, analytics, and market research to identify customer needs, pain points, and behavioral drivers—and translate them into operational improvements.
  • Comfortable partnering with senior leadership and diverse stakeholders to align on priorities, drive operational performance, and deliver measurable outcomes in fast-moving environments.
  • Strong strategic and executional range—able to move seamlessly from long-term operating strategy to detailed, hands-on implementation (including defining requirements and resolving complex edge cases).
  • Deep analytical problem-solver with the ability to dive into complex operational challenges, operate effectively in ambiguity, and design scalable solutions.
  • Excellent communicator—able to clearly articulate customer issues, operational constraints, and business tradeoffs across technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven people leader with experience building, mentoring, and coordinating high-performing teams, driving accountability, and delivering results cross-functionally.
  • Demonstrates a growth mindset: continuously learning, iterating, and raising the bar for both self and team.
  • Willingness to be wrong: seeks truth over ego, invites feedback, and updates decisions quickly based on new information.
  • Operates with a fail-fast / learn-fast approach: tests hypotheses, runs tight iteration loops, and scales what works.
  • Brings strong customer empathy and frontline respect, with a bias toward understanding real customer friction before optimizing processes.

  • Ideally has carrier-side experience (or meaningful carrier partnerships) to bring a grounded perspective on how insurers operate and make decisions.
  • Ideally has call center / customer operations experience, with firsthand understanding of service delivery, quality systems, escalations, and customer outcomes.

  • Experience building or operating APIs, SaaS, and/or Enterprise products, including technical collaboration with Product/Engineering.
  • Strong business acumen—may be demonstrated through an MBA, insurance designations, or equivalent operating/financial ownership.
