Our cleared personnel are experts in the operationalization and deployment of new and emerging technologies. We are looking for a Vice President of Finance to join our team. The VP of Finance will play a key role in supporting the company's objectives by providing financial insight and leadership across the company’s operations, with a special emphasis on compliance with government contracting regulations and standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in financial management, government contracting, and strategic financial planning in a leadership capacity.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a senior financial leadership role within a government contracting or similarly regulated industry.
  • Strong knowledge of government contracting, FAR, CAS, and related compliance regulations.
  • Proven track record in financial management, budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and strategic planning.
  • Experience with audits, cost accounting, and pricing proposals for government contracts.
  • Leadership experience managing a team of finance professionals.
  • Strong knowledge of financial management software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and mentor a team.
  • Deep understanding of the strategic role of finance in a government contracting business.
  • This position does not require an active security clearance at the time of application.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance, required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or other advanced degree, preferred.
  • CPA, CFA, or other relevant certifications, preferred.
  • Experience in managing a finance function for a large government contractor or defense contractor.
  • Familiarity with cost-plus and firm-fixed-price contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Leadership: Lead the finance department, ensuring strong financial management, forecasting, budgeting, and reporting systems. Provide strategic financial guidance to the CEO and executive leadership team.
  • Government Contracting Compliance: Ensure the company is fully compliant with all federal, state, and local government regulations, including the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), and other industry standards related to government contracts. This includes managing audit processes and ensuring accurate cost structures, billing, and invoicing for government contracts.
  • Financial Planning & Strategy: Develop and implement financial strategies that align with the company’s goals, growth objectives, and compliance requirements. Oversee the company’s budgeting process, financial modeling, and long-term financial forecasting.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Oversee preparation and presentation of financial reports, such as monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, to ensure clarity, transparency, and accuracy. Perform in-depth financial analysis and advise on key performance metrics to enhance profitability and operational efficiency.
  • Risk Management & Internal Controls: Establish and maintain a robust system of internal controls to safeguard company assets. Identify financial risks and develop mitigation strategies to protect the organization’s financial health.
  • Team Management & Development: Lead, mentor, and manage the finance team. Foster a high-performance culture by driving continuous improvement, professional development, and operational efficiency within the finance department.
  • Mergers & Acquisitions: If applicable, lead or support financial due diligence and integration efforts related to mergers, acquisitions, or joint ventures in line with business expansion strategies.
  • Investor Relations (if applicable):Manage relationships with investors, partners, and other stakeholders by ensuring timely and transparent communication regarding the company’s financial performance.
  • Treasury & Capital Management: Oversee the management of the company’s cash flow, banking relationships, and capital structure. Ensure the financial health of the organization through effective cash management, financing strategies, and cost controls.
