About The Position

The Vice President of Accounting is a senior financial leader responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, and supporting strategic business objectives. This role provides leadership across accounting, audit, compliance, and financial controls, while partnering closely with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to drive operational excellence and scalable financial processes.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of Accounting/Auditing experience
  • Experience as a Senior Leader within a client-drive services organization.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Willingness to undergo a background check in accordance with local law/regulations
  • 10+ years of experience in accounting or auditing
  • Must be located in commutable distance to the Headquarters in Escondido, CA.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the accounting organization, including hiring, training, development, performance management, and succession planning.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews and ongoing one-on-one coaching sessions with departement personnel.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration across the finance function.
  • Oversee all accounting activities, including general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, billing, cash receipts, collections, fixed assets, payroll, sales commissions, and royalty reporting.
  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting and account reconciliations.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and review comprehensive financial statements and management reports for executive leadership.
  • Manage annual financial statement audits, tax reporting, and 401(k) audits, serving as the primary point of contact for external auditors and advisors.
  • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial records and reporting processes.
  • Lead the company’s budgeting and forecasting processes in partnership with senior leadership.
  • Oversee cash management and overall financing activities to support business objectives.
  • Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to implement and optimize financial and operational technology systems, including e-commerce platforms and accounting integrations.
  • Drive process improvements and system enhancements to support scalability and efficiency within a client-driven services environment.
