Vice President – New Ventures, Asset Selection RTW Investments RTW Investments, LP (“RTW”) is a global, full life-cycle investment and innovation firm dedicated to solving the most challenging, unmet patient needs. RTW Investments – Recent Press Role Overview The Vice President will work with the Managing Director and New Ventures team to identify and evaluate opportunities for company creation. The Vice President will be responsible for developing investment theses for drug acquisition targets within a given therapeutic area. This position is full-time and reports to the Managing Director, New Ventures.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required, Advanced degree (MD or PhD) strongly preferred. All applicants MUST have a degree in and a strong understanding of biological sciences.
- 5+ years of experience focused on the biotech/pharmaceutical sector, buy-side role preferred
- Also open to MD/PhDs with <5 years of experience who are looking to make a career switch
- Ability to operate independently on both strategic and tactical tasks, and clearly articulate the process involved
- Investor mindset, deep experience with producing research notes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated tenacity in conducting detailed research and presenting findings
- New York based with willingness to travel (15%)
Nice To Haves
- Relevant academic or industry experience in the life sciences is preferred
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a pipeline of novel drug development ideas within given therapeutic area
- Construct investment cases (PowerPoint slides with excel models)
- Conduct proprietary research evaluating assets by analyzing scientific due diligence (preclinical, clinical), commercial, IP, CMC, regulatory
