About The Position

The person is responsible for the supervision of the Mortgage Origination team, which includes assisting originators in meeting their production, cross sale, Banker Settlement and various other annual goals. This position also oversees the Mortgage Application Center (PSEA/Affinity programs) Department.

Requirements

• Bachelor degree with related experience in mortgage lending.
• Minimum of ten years combined experience in residential mortgage loan originations, loan processing, underwriting, secondary marketing, or real estate sales.
• Strong business development skills.
• Computer skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for meeting or exceeding the annual Residential Mortgage loan sales volume and Gain on Sale goal.
• Responsible for meeting or exceeding the annual Mortgage Application Center budgeted volume projections.
• Maintain a full complement of Loan Originators consistent with budget expectations.
• Oversee the Mortgage Application Center by supervising the Phone Origination staff to originate and process mortgage, Loan in a Line and Personal LOC products.
• Work closely with the partners of the Mortgage Application Center by implementing marketing ideas to generate increased production.
• Responsible for the ongoing training of the Originators related to sales and product knowledge to enable them to meet their annual goals.
• Aggressively teach sales personnel on the need for cross selling other products within the organization, along with fully promoting the usage of Bankers Settlement to support our ownership obligations.
• Monitor and reinforce to ensure proper sales results.
• Responsible for coordinating the ongoing training of the Originators relative to compliance, regulatory, and the process/procedure of the Department.
• Assist with researching new Investors, products and delivery channels to be competitive in the market and help reach the Department goals.
• Work with the Bank's Marketing Department to design advertising geared to selling to more customers on the advantages of using AmeriServ for their Mortgage needs.
• Participate in the preparation of the annual budget for the Residential Lending Department (1060) and the Mortgage Application Center (1065).
• Establish and monitor a commission plan for all originators that is in conformance with regulations, established pricing guidelines and within tolerance of perimeters established.
• Prepare and submit actual commission statements to payroll.
• Responsible for the preparation and distribution of monthly reports.
• Participate in the development and execution of the Residential Mortgage Department Plan by assisting in meeting or exceeding all individual, department, and corporate production and budget goals.
• Conduct joint calls with the Originators to their referral sources, Realtors and Builders as applicable.
• Conduct regular sales meetings which focus on sales techniques, sales reporting, and product knowledge.
• Develop and foster a sales culture that emanates throughout the Mortgage Department.
• Develop and foster a customer service acumen that ensures that our value proposition of delivering exceptional customer service, both internally and externally, is job one.
• Ensure that all personnel who originate loans do so at a time and location convenient to the borrower.
• Interact with the department and other Bank employees to guarantee quality customer satisfaction throughout the entire mortgage process.
• Keep informed on mortgage related legislation and abreast of current industry trends and developments in the real estate market.
• Proactively seek out opportunities that support the Bank in meeting its CRA and Fair Lending responsibilities.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
