About The Position

As a member of the market leadership team, the Market CNO is accountable for the market performance related to quality and safety initiatives, workforce planning and retention initiatives, high reliability structures and processes to improve outcomes and reduce clinical variation. Responsible for regulatory requirements (e.g.: DNV ISO, DNV NIAHO, Conditions of Participations, etc.), transformation and process improvement initiatives (Lean Six Sigma, Lean Daily Management, etc.), and hospital(s) nursing/clinical operational performance (e.g.: planning, expense management, productivity, etc.). Partners and collaborates with other market executive leaders to ensure alignment of strategic initiatives, actively participating in market and system task forces, councils, and committees, and leadership and supervision of nursing leadership. Position reports directly to the Acute Care Market President with dotted line reporting to the SVP, Chief Nursing Officer for Sentara.

Requirements

  • 5 years clinical nursing experience required
  • 5 years progressive nursing leadership, including division-level CNO experience and matrix reporting in acute care, inpatient hospital settings
  • Masters Level Degree in Healthcare, Nursing, Business or related field
