Summary: The VP, Loan Trader will be responsible for managing and executing trades in the secondary loan market, contributing to the bank's profitability and market presence within the leveraged finance sector.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in loan trading, with a proven track record of profitability in both par and distressed markets.
  • Deep understanding of syndicated loan structures, documentation, and market conventions.
  • Strong credit analysis and financial modeling skills.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Established network of relationships within the leveraged loan trading community.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure trading environment.
  • Proficient in Bloomberg, Excel, and other relevant trading platforms.
  • FINRA Series 7 and Series 63 licenses required.

  • MBA or CFA preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute trading strategies for a diverse portfolio of syndicated loans, including par and distressed credits.
  • Actively manage and monitor loan positions, identifying and mitigating potential risks while maximizing returns.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with institutional investors, brokers, and other market participants.
  • Generate and distribute market color and trade ideas to internal stakeholders and clients.
  • Conduct thorough credit analysis and due diligence on prospective loan investments.
  • Negotiate and execute trades efficiently, ensuring compliance with all internal policies and external regulations.
  • Collaborate with sales, credit, and legal teams to facilitate seamless transaction execution and risk management.
  • Stay abreast of market trends, regulatory changes, and economic developments impacting the leveraged loan market.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of new trading strategies and products.
