About The Position

The VP, Loan Review Officer will oversee and participate in the examination of the Bank's commercial loan, commercial real estate, mortgage, and consumer portfolios. This senior role is responsible for managing risk management functions, ensuring compliance with credit standards, and maintaining the integrity of loan processes in accordance with established policies and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Thorough knowledge of commercial lending, including C & I (commercial and industrial) lending and CRE (Commercial Real Estate) lending.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to express opinions and recommendations clearly and confidently.
  • Ability to read and interpret financial statements to determine relevant credit risk.
  • Effective collaboration with personnel at all levels.
  • Ability to travel to other Enterprise Bank & Trust locations.
  • Undergraduate and/or advanced degree in business administration, accounting, or finance preferred, or significant relevant experience.
  • Minimum five to seven years' experience as a loan review officer, loan officer, regulatory examiner, or senior credit/financial analyst.
  • Formal bank credit training preferred.
  • Familiarity with GAAP and FASB guidelines.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Word and Excel; knowledge of database software is a plus.

  • Risk Management Association's CRC (Credit Risk Certification) or BAI Loan Review Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct independent and objective review of loan underwriting practices, approvals, monitoring activities, and credit administration procedures.
  • Review borrower relationships to assess loan repayment ability and validate risk ratings.
  • Evaluate the appropriateness of loan structures and recommend changes as necessary.
  • Analyze financial information to identify potential problems in credit quality and portfolio risk.
  • Evaluate the adequacy of portfolio monitoring and accuracy of loan documentation, recommending changes as needed.
  • Serve as the Examiner-in-Charge (EIC) to provide guidance and leadership to other examiners.
  • Build and maintain relationships with Commercial Relationship Officers, providing guidance for development areas.
  • Recommend loan process or policy changes to the Loan Review Manager based on portfolio assessments.
  • Prepare detailed reports of findings and recommendations for Senior Management.
  • Identify process gaps and inefficiencies in Loan Review and implement changes to address them.
  • Perform bank-wide portfolio analysis to identify trends and concentrations in industry groups, loan products, and collateral dispersion.
