First Hawaiian Bank is currently seeking a VP & International Banking Team Leader to join the team in the International Banking Department - Japan Division. In this role, you will manage a team of Commercial Banking Officers, Commercial Banking Associates, and Commercial Banking Service Representatives who manage portfolios of Commercial Banking customers. You will provide financial advice and counsel to the Bank's potential and existing business customers who have ties with Japan and are active in the state of Hawaii or Guam & CNMI region. You will sell the Bank's products and services which includes informing customers of benefits and features as well as actively refer customers to other area of the Bank such as Treasury Management Solutions, Business Services, Merchant Service Sales, Corporate Card, Wealth Management Group including Institutional Advisory Services and Private Banking Division, etc.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Law, Accounting or equivalent work experience required.
  • 5 years of experience in treasury management, commercial lending, or finance related experience.
  • Must be a native-level speaker in Japanese with formal business language proficiency.
  • Experience composing professional-level correspondence and reports in English and Japanese.
  • Understanding of intermediate to advanced accounting.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in a business-related field preferred.
  • Experience with executive-level Japanese and American business etiquette, culture and practices.

Responsibilities
