Comcast Advertising is driving the TV advertising industry forward, from delivering ads to linear and digital audiences to pioneering the tech that makes it possible. We help brands connect with their audiences on every screen using advanced data, technology, and premium video content. Our media sales division helps local, regional, and national brands reach potential customers through multiscreen TV advertising. Our ad tech division FreeWheel provides comprehensive adtech that makes it easier to buy and sell premium video advertising across all screens, data types, and sales channels. Job Summary The Vice President of Industry Verticals will lead and grow Comcast Advertising’s industry vertical practice, with current focus areas including Media & Entertainment (M&E) and Government & Advocacy (G&A). The VP will manage leaders and individual sellers to grow and develop emerging verticals, inclusive of brand partnerships. This role will be responsible for developing and executing go-to-market strategies, deepening relationships with priority verticals and building a scalable framework to expand into new industry categories. The VP will work cross-functionally with Sales, Product, Marketing and Sales Development to position Comcast Advertising as the preferred partner for advertisers seeking innovative, data-driven and multiscreen solutions. Accountable for a significant portion of advertising sales revenues of the company. Drives change transformation and strategy execution to achieve specific business results. Creates business strategy to focus on strengths, competitive advantage and differentiation. Incorporates broad knowledge to address complex and critical issues. Recognizes profitability and revenue potential in business opportunities specific to growing industries. Job Description The Vice President of Industry Verticals will lead the strategic direction and execution of national advertising initiatives, with a strong emphasis on managing partnerships with the broader Comcast Advertising entities and client direct relationships. This executive will be responsible for driving revenue growth, enhancing brand visibility, and ensuring alignment with overall business goals across multiple platforms and markets.

Responsibilities

  • Vertical Strategy & Growth Define the strategy for vertical development across existing verticals, such as M&E and G&A.
  • Identify and prioritize opportunities for expansion into additional new verticals.
  • Establish KPIs, growth targets and performance metrics by vertical.
  • Partner with the Enterprise Agency Sales teams to incorporate existing partnerships into the overall strategy and unlock new opportunities.
  • Sales Leadership & Revenue Growth Grow and develop a team of vertical leads and SME’s to build customized solutions that drive growth and retention.
  • Support enterprise sales efforts with vertical specific insights and positioning.
  • Drive relationships with executives within the vertical industries.
  • Develop and manage a discrete list of accounts to drive consistent and incremental revenue opportunities.
  • Directs executives that are accountable for achieving significant sales targets in major regions or channels.
  • Collaborates with top Advertising Sales Executives in setting prices and developing packages and programs for commercial advertising time and space.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with marketing, product, and finance teams to ensure integrated campaign execution.
  • Negotiates complex deals at top management level that affect major aspects of Comcast Advertising’s portfolio of sales opportunities; pursues and closes difficult and strategic accounts.
  • Develops and enforces strategies to maximize revenue generated within the advertising sales community.
  • Sets, approves and adjusts major policies and operating procedures that affect areas of the advertising sales function.
  • Partners with Sales Development leadership on Comcast Advertising’s go-to-market strategies and portfolio solution selling (ie: advanced ad solutions, new business, high value programming).
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including emerging platforms and verticals.
  • Analyze market trends and competitor activity to inform strategy.
  • Establishes and ensures the execution of short and long-term advertising revenue goals.
  • Represents the Company in advertising sales business community and manages relationships with various constituents both internally and externally.
  • Recruit, mentor, and manage a high-performing sales team across geographies.
  • Fosters a culture of accountability, innovation, and collaboration.
  • Motivates, develops and coaches director and management level.
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
