About The Position

We are seeking a Vice President of Industrial Engineering to define and scale the systems that power our compounding and pharmacy fulfillment network. This leader will own the design and evolution of our end-to-end production ecosystem, from compounding through dispensing, packaging, and delivery, ensuring it is compliant, scalable, and operationally excellent. You will serve as the senior-most engineering partner to Pharmacy, Operations, and Quality leadership, bringing deep expertise in regulated environments (cGMP, USP, FDA) while driving modern, high-throughput system design. This role is critical to enabling the next phase of our manufacturing and fulfillment expansion, including new lines, facility builds, and automation investments. Success in this role requires quickly building credibility with cross-functional leadership, establishing rigor in capital planning and project execution, and identifying and closing gaps across systems, workflows, and performance visibility. This role will partner closely with senior leaders across Compounding Operations, R&D, and Global Quality, and will lead a team that includes Directors of Industrial Engineering, Device Engineering, Manufacturing, and Maintenance. This is both a strategic and hands-on leadership role: setting direction, building the function, and ensuring disciplined execution across a growing network.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, or operations engineering within regulated or high-precision environments
  • Proven leadership experience across multi-site operations, including building and scaling engineering functions
  • Deep expertise in cGMP, FDA regulations, and Board of Pharmacy requirements (USP <795>, <797>, <800>)
  • Track record of designing and scaling high-throughput production, compounding, or fulfillment systems
  • Experience in cleanroom environments and regulated manufacturing (pharma, medical device, semiconductor, or similar)
  • Demonstrated ownership of large-scale capital programs (including facility builds, automation, and infrastructure investments)
  • Strong foundation in validation, quality systems, and inspection-ready operations
  • Expertise in Lean, Six Sigma, capacity planning, and operational analytics
  • Ability to operate at both strategic and execution levels, with strong communication across executive and technical audiences
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred

Responsibilities

  • Define and lead the Industrial Engineering strategy across compounding, pharmacy, and fulfillment operations
  • Architect scalable, end-to-end workflows that connect production, dispensing, packaging, and delivery
  • Establish standardized operating models that can be replicated across sites
  • Lead facility design, cleanroom environments, and network expansion efforts
  • Own and optimize large-scale capital investment planning (automation, equipment, and infrastructure), including $100M+ programs
  • Establish clear governance, reporting, and execution rigor for capital projects
  • Ensure all systems and processes are designed to meet cGMP, FDA, and Board of Pharmacy requirements (including USP <795>, <797>, <800>)
  • Partner closely with Quality and Pharmacy leadership to embed compliance into engineering design and maintain inspection readiness
  • Translate regulatory frameworks into practical, scalable operating systems
  • Improve throughput, accuracy, and cost through workflow optimization, automation, and capacity planning
  • Drive continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, and data-driven methodologies
  • Identify and close critical gaps across systems, workflows, and performance visibility
  • Build and lead the Industrial Engineering function across a multi-site network
  • Mentor and elevate existing engineering leaders and teams, strengthening capabilities in regulated environments
  • Bring structure and clarity to how teams plan, execute, and report on large-scale initiatives
  • Serve as a key thought partner to senior leaders across Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Facilities, Technology, and Finance
