About The Position

The Vice President of Human Resources (VP HR) at MedStar Health provides strategic leadership and oversight of HR functions across various business units. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, HR, or related field required.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 15 years of relevant HR experience required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Knowledge of applicable HR laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with service line directors to align HR plans with business unit goals.
  • Develops and achieves department goals while adhering to policies and quality standards.
  • Ensures compliance with hospital policies and governmental regulations.
  • Develops and implements a comprehensive integrated HR strategic plan with the HR Leadership Team.
  • Participates in succession planning to ensure talent readiness across the organization.
  • Drives regionalization of HR, ensuring consistency in strategy and processes.
  • Enhances professional growth through educational programs and workshops.
  • Monitors HR program outcomes and adjusts plans as necessary.
  • Provides monthly reports on HR results tied to organizational goals.
  • Maintains strategic partnerships with senior leaders to support HR programs.
  • Manages interdependencies within HR and payroll functions.
  • Oversees compliance, regulatory, and budgetary needs for HR functions.
  • Develops budgets for HR functions and monitors spending for cost-effectiveness.
  • Represents HR in community outreach and participates in quality improvement teams.
  • Demonstrates understanding of labor laws and union avoidance techniques.
  • Provides strategic support and aligns HR strategies with business goals.
  • Ensures a positive experience for associates and leaders, addressing problems proactively.
  • Supervises HR staff to maximize productivity and meet quality standards.
  • Conducts performance reviews for HR directors and site-based HR staff.
  • Assists with workforce retention programs and promotes diversity.
