About The Position

The VP Global Finance and Controller will lead an accounting team that is responsible for the closing and maintaining of the financial books, consolidation, and timely and accurate preparation of reporting of financial information to internal (e.g., Audit Committee) and external users (Lender Reporting). Key Responsibilities Ensure departmental alignment in the design and execution of activities to support organizational initiatives. Collaborate with other departments to support strategic initiatives and ensure alignment with financial objectives. Oversee a Global Team of Accountants and Analysts to ensure Advita’s books and records are prepared, maintained, and reported properly in accordance with applicable US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP). Establishes clearly defined individual goals for direct reports to ensure achievement of departmental goals and organizational initiatives. Maintain an organizational culture of compliance to Advita’s code of ethics. Responsible for hiring and terminations within the department, as required. Provide leadership to include effective feedback on culture, results, and future, coaching and mentoring, performance management and career development. Execute and support financial transactions as requested by CFO inclusive of, but not limited to, debt transactions, sale and leaseback transactions, and capital lease arrangements. Establish and maintain relationships with all banking institutions utilized by Advita. Work with FP&A to maintain cash forecast utilized by CFO. Provide daily cash balances to CFO. Develop financial infrastructure to comply with public company rigor. Supervise and execute bi-weekly check disbursement runs. Communicate with vendors as necessary. Oversee and develop the capability of the Accounting & Financial Reporting Function. Interact with other Finance staff, as needed, as it relates to accounting and financial reporting matters. Develop and maintain an internal control environment that would allow Advita to transition to and comply with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements. Identify control gaps and create policies and procedures to address identified deficiency. Ensure compliance with policies and procedures within the accounting team. Serves as a technical accounting resource to all accounting functions. This requires knowledge of proposed and existing pronouncements impacting the company as well as researching issues as they arise and drafting technical accounting memos with proposed solutions of how to properly account for various issues. Review all documentation prepared by the Accounting Manager in accordance with Novel Transaction Policy Serve as internal lead with external financial auditors and support the audit requests. Coordinate the preparation of audited financial statements inclusive of applicable disclosures. Review and approve financial statement disclosure checklist. Maintain Financial Reporting Calendar for Advita to ensure everyone is aware of reporting-related deadlines. Maintain an accurate record of organizational structure and ownership. Ensure applicable capitalization tables are maintained. Coordinate, prepare and/or review of information required for Senior Management and/or the Audit Committee. Coordinate the preparation the Advita’s monthly operating review packages that include Revenue details, P&L, and cash flow statements in accordance with US GAAP. Supervise impairment testing of all long-lived assets on at least a yearly basis and determine on at least a quarterly basis if an indicator of impairment has occurred in the quarter and performs additional impairment testing in accordance with established company policy. Maintenance and reconciliation of all the high-risk accounts. Liaise with the tax department to help provide information and assist where needed with the FAS109 tax provision and related accounts. Participate in special projects as needed, which have included, but are not limited to: purchase accounting, push-down accounting, analysis of relocation and closed-store reserves and one-time costs, set-up of intangible amortization schedules, etc. Maintain the financial systems, oversee structural changes to the data warehouses, and lead the projects to incorporate the Global Offices into the main ERP system. Promote employee professional development. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Know and apply the Quality System and any appropriate Federal and International Standards Other responsibilities as assigned by CFO.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field from an accredited institution required; Master’s Degree preferred
  • Certified Public Accountant designation
  • 10+ years of related accounting experience, preferably in a world-class environment.
  • SEC reporting experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to build or transform an accounting and reporting team.
  • Proven success managing a team and a problem-solving mindset
  • Experience and ability to perform under the demands and challenges of both being a private equity backed company and a public company.
  • Experience with change in control transactions
  • Experience working in multiple ERP and consolidation systems
  • Highest ethical standards; transparent
