The Vice President, Finance & Accounting role is a leadership role and holds the responsibility for strategizing, orchestrating, and directing all the financial and accounting functions of the company, encompassing comprehensive financial forecasting, budgeting, and prompt and precise reporting to the executive team. Responsibilities extend beyond these and involve strategic fiscal planning, efficient conveyance of financial outcomes in a punctual manner, business model evaluation, budget preparation, scrutiny of financial and operational metrics, implementation of accounting controls, adherence to GAAP, and handling of financial documentation. This position manages two departments within the organization through supervisors/managers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field
  • 10+ years of work experience in Accounting or Finance
  • 5+ years of management experience
  • Experience with international multi-entity consolidation
  • Proficiency in Netsuite accounting software and ERP/FP&A platforms; advanced financial modeling skills
  • Background in international tax, transfer pricing, or managing global tax advisor relationships
  • Foreign exchange and treasury risk management experience in a multi-currency environment
  • Familiarity with SOX or equivalent internal control frameworks
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and problem solve in a deadline driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Planning and Budgeting – develop comprehensive financial strategies, managing capital requests and overseeing the budgeting process.
  • Team Management and Development – leading and organizing the work of the finance and accounting teams, while fostering a high-performance culture focused on continuous improvement and quality.
  • Direct and assist in managerial P&L reviews to evaluate monthly performance and progress towards accomplishing annual goals.
  • Ensure that financial results and forecasts are reported accurately and in a timely manner to the executive team.
  • Create and develop different ad-hoc financial and business models as needed.
  • Lead and help in the analysis of the operational and financial results against established budgets and forecasts.
  • Oversee and analyze Virtuoso network production reports from suppliers and Virtuoso Reports.
  • Lead effective accounting processes.
  • Ensure all accounting and financial operations comply with the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Analyze the business units of Virtuoso to improve the business processes and systems and to facilitate tighter integration of the operations to the accounting systems and finance systems.
  • Effectively manage cash and equivalents including the proper utilization of working capital.
  • Serve as the department liaison to the other business units of Virtuoso to determine accounting and finance information needs and develop plans with owners to deliver needed information.
  • Responsible for external audit and tax work for Virtuoso, including management of international tax compliance, VAT/GST obligations across jurisdictions, and coordination with external tax advisors on transfer pricing and country-by-country reporting.
  • Oversee multi-entity consolidation and financial reporting across international subsidiaries, ensuring compliance with applicable local statutory requirements and IFRS where required.
  • Manage foreign currency risk and treasury operations across multiple countries, including FX exposure management, multi-currency reporting, and banking relationships in key international markets.
  • Design, implement, and maintain an internal controls framework (aligned with COSO or equivalent standards) to support the integrity of financial reporting across all global operations.
  • Ensure compliance with revenue recognition standards (ASC 606) as applied to Virtuoso’s network, commission-based, and membership revenue streams.
  • Partner with the SVP, Finance & BI and executive leadership to support strategic decisions including capital allocation, scenario planning, and potential acquisitions or partnerships.
  • Possible travel required – both domestic and international.
  • Create and manage the departmental budget.
