About The Position

The Vice President of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) leads the development, implementation, and oversight of the Company’s EHS programs. This role drives continuous improvement in safety culture, environmental stewardship, and risk mitigation across the enterprise. This position will hybrid with a minimum of 3 days in the office based in Lincolnshire, IL.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in occupational environmental, safety, and health (or similar) from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of fifteen years’ professional experience within environmental, health, and safety fields.
  • Minimum of ten years professional experience leading a team and directing multiple sites in the environmental, health, and safety fields.
  • Exceptional communication and executive-level presentation skills.
  • Certified Safety Professional certification by the Board of Certified Safety Professional is required.
  • Environmental Certification of Certified Hazardous Materials Manager through the Institute of Hazardous Materials Management is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight over all EHS initiatives to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local EHS laws, rules, and regulations, operational effectiveness, and alignment with Company goals.
  • Enhance safety programs, policies, procedures, training, and audits to establish operational discipline and individual accountability.
  • Lead and develop EHS team to build a strong safety culture through leadership engagement, safety communication, behavioral-based safety programs, and compliance audits.
  • Oversee federal, state, and local health and safety inspections, incident investigations, citation responses, timely regulatory reporting, and execution of remediation activities.
  • Manage EHS budget, vendor contracts, and compliance technology platforms.
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships across operations, construction, legal, and finance.
  • Partner with senior leadership to champion a culture of safety excellence and operational integrity.
  • Establish and report key compliance metrics, safety-related statistics, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Travel responsibilities up to 50%; some travel with short notice.
