About The Position

We are seeking a visionary and results-driven Vice President of Engineering to lead our technical engineering disciplines. This is a unique opportunity to join a mission-driven consultancy dedicated to advancing global health through medical technology innovation. This position calls for a highly visible, strategic, and data-driven leader who can unite teams, foster collaboration, and guide the organization toward long-term growth and sustainability. Success in this role requires deep expertise in medical device development, a strong understanding of client priorities, and awareness of global market dynamics. As a key member of the senior leadership team, you will work cross-functionally to define, align, and champion organizational objectives across the company and within the Product Design & Engineering (PDE) business unit.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in the medical device industry.
  • Proven success in product commercialization and navigating regulatory pathways.
  • Strong business acumen and client-service orientation.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large, diverse teams across multiple disciplines.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a medical device consultancy or high-growth technology environment.
  • Ability to bridge technical and business perspectives to drive innovation.
  • Track record of building scalable processes and teams in dynamic environments.
  • Masters in Business Administration.

Responsibilities

  • Own P&L responsibility, ensuring profitability through effective project scoping, cost management, and resource allocation.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans for service offerings and technical capabilities aligned with client needs and market dynamics.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations to ensure efficiency, quality, and compliance.
  • Establish and report against key operational performance goals and KPIs.
  • Provide leadership oversight of technical functional managers and support technical teams to ensure staff capabilities meet business and client needs.
  • Source and recruit high-quality technical leaders across engineering disciplines.
  • Lead and develop a team of innovative and excited engineers, fostering their growth and engagement.
  • Build and maintain a high-performing, multidisciplinary team across engineering at Veranex.
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and values-driven culture.
  • Unite and inspire technical teams to achieve project and organizational goals by bridging business strategy and technical execution.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain top talent across engineering and design disciplines.
  • Establish and nurture client relationships to support continuation work and position the organization as a go-to partner for development needs.
  • Represent the company in client meetings, pitches, and proposal development.
  • Identify opportunities for new business and service innovation.
  • Partner with regulatory, quality, and commercialization teams to ensure integrated product development.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to align business unit goals with company strategy.
  • Identify gaps in resources, tools, and capabilities; prioritize and elevate them to support sales and strategic programs.
