About The Position

The VP, Consumer Loan Portfolio Manager at Banc of California is responsible for overseeing the servicing of all Mortgage subservicers. This role involves managing relationships with subservicers, ensuring compliance with agency mandates, and performing various oversight activities such as reporting, delinquency review, and MERS reconciliation. The position requires adherence to U.S. state and federal laws and company policies, with a focus on operational excellence and ethical conduct.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 7+ years of residential loan servicing/training within the financial services industry.
  • Broad understanding of residential, consumer, and commercial loan processes, documentation, and servicing.
  • Intermediate level of experience in residential loan servicing activities and terminology.
  • Effective organizational, time management, and strong analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of state and federal banking compliance regulations and lending policies.
  • Exceptional oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to make decisions impacting the work unit and cross-functional departments.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Intermediate math skills for calculations and error detection.
  • Ability to provide consultation and expert advice to management.

Responsibilities

  • Manage relationships with all subservicers, resolving loan level issues with professionalism.
  • Onboard new loan purchases to subservicers.
  • Create and maintain an open item report for all subservicers with follow-up dates and expected resolution dates.
  • Request quarterly credit score reporting from all subservicers and review declining scores.
  • Oversee MERS, including monthly reconciliation and annual audits.
  • Review and order valuations for defaulted loans, reporting values to accounting quarterly.
  • Research and review taxes, insurance, and escrow activity involving mortgage loans.
  • Provide support across multiple functional areas within the department as needed.
  • Gather portfolio oversight data to recap performance results for subservicer oversight.
  • Facilitate timely responses to audit requests as assigned.
