About The Position

Banesco USA is seeking a VP, Commercial Credit Underwriter III for our Credit Analysis business unit. The role involves performing underwriting of new and existing commercial real estate, commercial & industrial loans, mostly for complex requests, to assess the financial condition, repayment capacity, and risks associated with the transaction. Responsibilities include real estate cash flow analysis, global cash flow analysis, and assessing the financial condition of guarantors. The position also requires obtaining necessary information from lending officers, complying with the Bank’s Credit Policy, and completing the annual training program assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business and/or Finance or equivalent experience.
  • Seven (7) years of experience in the Banking industry as a Credit Underwriter in C&I, CRE, and ABL lending.
  • Advanced computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.).
  • Advanced knowledge of financial spreadsheet software.
  • Advanced underwriting knowledge of commercial real estate and commercial and industrial loans.
  • Knowledge of lending activities including credit policies, procedures, practices, and techniques.
  • Knowledge of related State and Federal banking compliance regulations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to multi-task with strong organization, time-management, and prioritizing skills.
  • Customer service skills to ensure satisfaction of both internal and external customers.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, and technical procedures.
  • Ability to understand and comprehend instructions, procedures, and policies ensuring compliance with the Bank’s policies and procedures.
  • Problem solving and analytical skills to identify problems and present them to the appropriate parties.
  • Advanced mathematical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform underwriting of new and existing commercial real estate, commercial & industrial loans, mostly for complex requests.

  • Conduct real estate cash flow analysis and global cash flow analysis.
  • Assess the financial condition of guarantors of transactions.
  • Perform underwriting of new and existing business loans, mostly for complex requests.
  • Conduct financial analysis, projections, and industry analysis.
  • Obtain necessary information in a timely manner from lending officers and other bank officers.
  • Comply and adhere to the Bank’s Credit Policy.
  • Complete the annual training program assigned.
  • Perform other functions and/or duties as assigned.
