About The Position

The Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) at Legacy Mount Hood Medical Center is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing hospital-wide nursing patient care programs, policies, and procedures. The CNO will play a crucial part in strategic planning and implementation, ensuring that nursing care meets the diverse needs of the patient population. Requirements

  • MSN/MN and/or Doctoral degree in nursing required.
  • Eight years of diverse and progressively responsible healthcare and/or related administrative experience.
  • Minimum of three years' experience in a clinical nursing leadership role.
  • Ability to lead people in setting goals and maintaining high morale and productivity.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Thorough understanding of current developments and trends in healthcare management.
  • Knowledge of operational and financial controls.
  • Keyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic systems.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and communicate a shared nursing vision.
  • Participate in setting strategic direction with the senior management team.
  • Design and implement a patient care delivery model that aligns with the hospital's strategic planning and mission.
  • Maintain knowledge of clinical practices and implement evidence-based practices.
  • Demonstrate fiscal responsibility for all defined areas of accountability.
  • Direct, manage, and guide assigned functions including planning, budgeting, and financial control.
  • Establish a plan to monitor, evaluate, and improve the quality of clinical services and patient satisfaction.
  • Ensure clinical policies and procedures are reviewed and updated according to evidence-based practice.
  • Build relationships and create an environment of collaboration and mutual respect with stakeholders.
  • Foster professional and personal growth among nursing staff and uphold high ethical standards.
