About The Position

The Executive Director, Business Planning will report to the COO, Product and Partnering and work directly with the President of Pioneering Medicines in a leadership capacity to deliver strategic and tactical execution against many different types of business needs that arise within Pioneering Medicines (PM) and across Flagship with partner functions and the portfolio of companies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Life Sciences, Biotechnology, or related fields.
  • Advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) is preferred.
  • At least 10 years of progressive experience in leadership roles within the biotech or life sciences industry.
  • A proven ability to think strategically and drive initiatives that align with the company's long-term goals.
  • Strong project management skills with experience in leading complex projects from conception to completion.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams, inspire others, collaborate and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • A flexible and adaptive approach to navigate in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment, being in the office 3 or more days per week and working

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day to day planning & administration of PM
  • Ensure alignment across cross-functional teams on PM's objectives and monitor progress toward key milestones.
  • Manage all Functional Governance including: Leadership Team, Extended Leadership Team, PM Oversight Board in partnership with the President, PM
  • Act as a bridge between the President and other executive team members, facilitating effective communication and alignment.
  • Act as a liaison between PM and support functions including HR, Finance and IT
  • Manage cross functional efforts with these groups including the annual operating plan, PM SharePoint Hub, rollout of new IT systems, performance review process, knowledge management.
  • Prepare executive-level communications, presentations, and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Own communication process and cadence for PBU including Sharepoint hub.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness across departments.
  • Manage critical non-pipeline projects and initiatives, ensuring that they are executed on time and within budget, providing regular updates on project status.
