About The Position

The Role We are searching for a VP of Business Architecture who will play a key role in our Enterprise Technology’s strategy to advance and simplify our technology, while protecting the Firm. Our practice enables making digital servicing excellence possible through integrated, re-usable solutions, modernizing our infrastructure to the meet the Firms needs now and in the future, and mitigating risk. Be part of a team that is simplifying & modernizing experiences and technology for over 70M yearly customer interactions, 80M transactions, and 10M documents annually. You will partner with technology product leaders and enterprise architecture in the creation and delivery of solutions for select Top 25 and strategic initiatives. You will lead a team that develops investment cases and plans, consults on product strategy & planning, and drives rigor and sound decision making with our technology capital – aligning as needed with leaders in our business and technology organizations. The long-term focus and growth of the team is refining our proficiency in the areas of building and applying solutions, making sound capital investment decisions, as well as running a practice of highly talented & motivated associates. You will blend deep business, technology, and design expertise while coaching, mentoring and growing associates - deeply committed to delivering value to our business partners. Your responsibilities include: Developing & delivering a portfolio of large, complex investment analysis, business cases and plans Developing solutions options and recommendations in partnership with Enterprise Technology (ET) Architecture to meet domain and/or BU KPIs Maintaining and executing buy versus build assessments Facilitating effective investment planning in partnership with our program office Working with product leaders to facilitate scope of work and prioritization Developing investment roadmaps and investment/resource optionality Managing dependencies, risks, and impediments and escalating when needed Collaborating across multiple levels of the organization Creating executive level communication for internal updates, effectively communicating complex ideas and providing recommendations when needed Value Delivered Shape domain vision, strategic decisions, priorities, and solutions development Drive the development of major change initiatives and investment – large in size and/or complexity as well as elevated risk to the organization, with clear, measurable results. Lead the design and advise implementation teams of business changes – through technology products - that directly tie to both Business Unit and Enterprise strategic business plans. Inform product investment roadmaps that contribute to domain key performance indicators Create standard solution architectures adopted and promoted in the Fidelity Blueprint for broader consumption and value delivery Develop best practices across Enterprise Technology for high quality solution optionality and investment decision making, driving adoption of these practices across the organization so that other organizations benefit The Expertise and Skills You Bring Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline; MBA a plus Fifteen years of strategic business design, investment & transformation experience Persuasive communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with and communicate at all levels of the business and technology organization – up to senior and executive management Ability to influence technology direction within business context. Ability to translate business needs into technology solutions. Financial Services / Operations industry experience Systems analysis and design and/or technology architecture a plus Success leading complex enterprise-level business value analysis, business case development and planning for large scale technology efforts Strong ownership and accountability to deliver results coupled with problem-solving expertise Expertise in Workflow & Orchestration, Document Management Systems and Contact Center platforms a plus Comfortable with complexity, ambiguity, and managing change; self-motivated Experience in practice & portfolio management, including the growth and development of associates and attracting/acquiring talent Note: Fidelity is not providing immigration sponsorship for this position. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline; MBA a plus
  • Fifteen years of strategic business design, investment & transformation experience
  • Persuasive communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with and communicate at all levels of the business and technology organization – up to senior and executive management
