About The Position

The Vice President Patient Care Services and Associate Chief Nursing Officer (VP/ACNO) provides direct leadership of patient cares services and is responsible for nursing practice in the hospital. The position participates in the Regional One Health Executive Team and activities related to the governing body, management, medical staff, and clinical services delivery of nursing and patient care. This position insures a collaborative environment to promote excellence in clinical care, education and research, and professional development to achieve the mission of the hospital.

Requirements

  • MSN Required
  • RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure Upon Hire Required
  • Minimum 7 years experience of progressive nursing/healthcare leadership experience. Required
  • Minimum 5 years experience management experience in an acute care hospital with documented achievements and leadership responsibilities. Required
  • Qualified by education, training or experience with the neonate, infant, toddler, pre-school, school-age, adolescent, adult and/or geriatric patient population. Required

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for collaborating with nursing leadership to set the strategic direction of all reporting areas to achieve organizational goals.
  • Works collaboratively with all disciplines and medical staff to establish an environment and culture of high reliability and quality.
  • Insures the development, competency, recruitment, retention, and professional practice of nursing through mentorship, advocacy, accountability, collaborative relationships with academic partners, process-improvement, and evidence-based foundations.
  • Develops metrics-driven goals and models of operational accountability to insure all direct reports are aligned and executing on strategies to meet all organizational objectives and goals.
  • Responsible for developing and monitoring budgets, planning capital needs, prioritizing resources, exploring innovative strategies to reduce expenses and increase revenue,
  • Holds all leaders and staff accountable for initiatives to improve clinical outcomes, patient experience, operational efficiencies, a culture of safety and high reliability, and value-based care.
  • Responsible for developing and evaluating contracts and agreements to insure cost-effective, value-added services.
  • Engages in strategies to reduce waste, improve throughput, eliminate duplicative work, achieve efficiencies.
  • Promotes strategies and tactics to recruit, retain and foster a highly-engaged workforce through effective on-boarding, leader and employee development, reward and recognition, transparent communication, and accountable leadership models.
  • Responsible for insuring compliance with standards set by all regulatory and accrediting agencies.
  • Upholds and models Regional One Health’s mission and values and commitment to care for the community’s health care needs.
