SUMMARY: The Associate Chief Nursing Officer (ACNO) in conjunction with the CNO provides leadership and operational oversight for nursing services and direct patient care delivery across the facility. The ACNO ensures high quality, compassionate, and efficient care while fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement. The ACNO partners closely with senior leadership to drive organizational priorities related to quality, safety, patient experience, employee engagement, and financial stewardship. The ACNO in conjunction with the CNO leads, integrates, and evaluates professional nursing practice, serving as a liaison between nursing and medical staff. The role is responsible for establishing and executing strategies that support clinical excellence, operational efficiency, and professional development. RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop and execute strategic plans for nursing and organizational growth. Lead and manage day-to-day operations, including work force planning and talent development. Foster effective collaboration between nursing, clinical departments, and medical staff, Ensure compliance with professional standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies. Serve as a change agent, leading initiatives for quality, safety, patient experience, and financial sustainability. Oversee integration of care and operations across the organization. Motivate and lead a high-performing, diverse management team; provide coaching and professional development. Maintain current knowledge of clinical practice, healthcare economics, and policy. Champion evidence-based practice and a culture of shared decision-making. Direct the development and management of operating and capital budgets. Represent the hospital in the community and with external agencies. Promote nursing research, professional development, and academic partnerships. Maintain visibility and accessibility with staff, patients, and families to promote engagement and trust. Ensure continuity and consistency of nursing care across the organization. Lead and support committees, interdisciplinary groups, and special projects as assigned. Perform other related duties as required.
