About The Position

The VP, Assistant Portfolio Manager role is a client-facing position in a growing business line focused on Energy Transition. This role offers exposure to various financing structures, products, and technologies, making it ideal for self-motivated individuals looking to enter the Energy Transition and Renewables financing sector. The position involves analyzing and assessing risk drivers in transactions, monitoring portfolio developments, and managing a high-volume portfolio of construction and operating projects in sustainable energy technologies such as wind, solar, and battery storage.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree; CFA is a plus.
  • MBA or technical graduate degrees preferred.
  • Experience with portfolio management and client management within energy, renewables, structured debt or project finance.
  • Prior work experience at a bank is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and negotiate amendment, waiver and consent requests from Borrowers.
  • Write up credit memos, review legal documentation, and complete internal workflows for approvals.
  • Monitor portfolio deals by reviewing quarterly and annual financial statements and preparing annual reviews.
  • Provide base case and downside case scenarios, internal deal rating and pricing, counterparty analysis, contract analysis, and financial and structural analyses.
  • Responsible for the Rabobank Risk Rating, LEA/LGD and RAROC models.
  • Develop financial projections for projects and corporates.
  • Research and collect market and sector outlook data to assist with portfolio monitoring.
  • Prepare and maintain operating performance tables for transactions.
  • Review Borrower's financial condition and prepare cash flow projections.
  • Track ratings of different counterparties.
  • Assist in draw and disbursements packages.
  • Review and analyze Letter of Credit issuances.
  • Monitor and review reporting deliverables.
  • Assist with covenant compliance tracking.
  • Update internal credit templates.
  • Assist with portfolio analytics and projections.
  • Maintain ongoing compliance with internal reporting requirements.
  • Support team members in day-to-day information flow with clients and third-parties.
  • Manage communications with Lenders on amendment/waiver/consent requests.
  • Keep track of Lender required voting thresholds.
  • Support senior team members in analysis and execution of transactions.
