About The Position

Citizens Bank is seeking a Vice President (VP) level candidate to join the Asset Backed Securitization (ABS) business line within the Structured Products (SP) group. The SP group is part of Citizens’ Capital Markets & Advisory (CM&A) division. The VP will work with ABS team members in support of non-mortgage securitization origination and execution for both Term ABS transactions and loan/warehouse facilities (ABSL). The VP will report to the Head of ABS and the role will be based in Stamford, CT.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of Term ABS and ABSL experience at a commercial or investment bank
  • Advanced analytical, structuring, underwriting, credit, and presentation skills
  • Comfort with legal documents and experience coordinating communication with lawyers, clients and other external parties to structure and execute transactions
  • Strong knowledge of the Term ABS market and transactions backed by traditional and esoteric assets with ability to coordinate client/market coverage in tandem with fixed income desk professionals.
  • Strong PC proficiency including Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word and PowerPoint), Bloomberg and Credit Research Tools
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with ability to coordinate multiple projects and satisfy deadlines, time management skills required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or Economics

Nice To Haves

  • FINRA Licensing (Series 79 and/or 7 and 63) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Work with the ABS group’s senior professionals to assist in originating and leading the execution of non-mortgage asset-backed securitization transactions across a variety of consumer and commercial asset classes. Familiarity with Digital Infrastructure sector a plus
  • For ABSL transactions, prepare and present concise credit underwriting memos, coordinate legal doc review with counsel, organize cash flow modelling and rating analysis, and communicate with internal approval constituents.
  • Assist ABSL portfolio management team as needed on a post-closing basis
  • For Term ABS transactions, perform research and analysis on market pricing and trends, assist with deal execution including both passive and active ABS underwriting roles, and liase with desk professionals to enhance overall client coverage and value delivery.
  • Contribute to the development of pitch materials and structuring / execution advice to clients in pursuit of Term ABS and ABSL deal mandates
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with credit and portfolio management partners as well as related sector focused investment banking colleagues.
  • Mentor and develop associates and analysts
