About The Position

Share your sunshine by visiting with Hospice patients who are often lonely and without the comfort of immediate family. Our patients benefit so much from warm smiles, pleasant conversations, and gentle hand holding. It's easy to share music/nature sounds on your smart phone, read books/poetry, play guitar/Sing, watch TV, join a patient for dinner or just provide a compassionate presence. We provide free comprehensive training and support along your journey. Let people know they matter. Your smile and presence will mean so much! to our patients and families!

Build your Resume/Linked in. Hospice volunteer experience adds another layer to your work life. It shows you are compassionate and committed to helping people. Certificate and Letter of Recommendation: After completing the training and honoring your commitment, we offer a letter of recommendation and a Certificate showing you completed in-depth training. Be a Hospice Champion! Be the go-to person in your circle and educate friends, family, and community about the importance/benefits of Hospice care. You can: Make a difference in your community, be part of the hospice team, and enjoy a flexible volunteer schedule. A few hours a week can make a big difference to someone nearing the end of life! Requirements

• 18 years old
• Stay connected for one year or more
• Volunteer at least 4 hours per month
• Complete our Free Comprehensive Online training that is personally enriching and is focused on personal death awareness and hospice philosophy
• For your own self-care, we recommend waiting a year after a significant loss of a close family member
