About The Position

Unpaid volunteer contributing time to Intermountain Health in various roles. Our volunteer program requires a 100 hour commitment - with a minimum of one 3-hour scheduled shift per week, exceptions being for vacation or illness. We're looking for individuals that can volunteer consistently each week. We depend on our volunteers! This is an unpaid position that provides the opportunity to support our departments, meet new people, and gain experience working with caregivers in serving our patients and families. We are looking for caring and compassionate individuals to serve in such areas as but not limited to: Guest/ Greeter Services - Engaging with individuals, giving directions within the facility to appointments, occasionally help receive donations. Gift Shop Assistant -Assisting customers with their purchases, pricing items, and using the cash register. Lobby Musician-Must be proficient in providing a variety of background music and have performance experience in one of the following instruments: Piano, violin, cello, acoustic guitar, or another approved instrument. Kids Crew-Assist in the in-patient/outpatient playrooms, assist child life specialists, take around the activity cart, play games, do arts and crafts with patients and siblings. Food Pantry-Assist in our in-hospital food pantry, stock shelves, greet families. Department Support-Infusion Center, Same Day Surgery, Outpatient Rehab, Med Surg, Emergency Department, School Zone, Sophie’s Place, Ronald McDonald Family Room, and Donation Room.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 16 years of age
  • Able to work independently
  • Have good communication and listening skills
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Ability to work with diverse populations
  • Physical mobility (walking, bending, standing)
  • Adequate hearing and vision
  • Sensitive to patient and family situations
