The Volunteer Taxpayer Advocacy Panel (TAP) Member position is a volunteer role within the IRS's Taxpayer Advocate Service (TAS). The TAP serves as an advisory body that listens to taxpayers, identifies their issues, and makes recommendations to improve IRS service and customer satisfaction. Members will engage with the community to gather feedback on tax-related issues and work collaboratively with the IRS to enhance the tax administration system. This role requires a commitment of approximately 200 to 300 volunteer hours per year and offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the improvement of the IRS and taxpayer experience.
