The Volunteer Services Manager will be responsible for overseeing, managing and ensuring the smooth operations of the Volunteer Services teams within the Volunteer Support Group, which includes: Volunteer Recruitment and Talent Search Team, Volunteer Management System (VMS) including VMS Coaches, Team Leads Support and Events Team, and Welcome Team. Staff members in this role serve in a culture of service, harmony and guru-seva, practice sensitivity and respect towards diverse world cultures, and perform duties in alignment with SRF and VLD aims, ideals, and core values.

  • Oversee and guide the Volunteer Recruitment process, ensuring timely sourcing and fulfillment of volunteer requirements across the organization.
  • Participate in periodic meetings with Program Managers, Department Managers and Leads to assess and identify their volunteer hiring needs.
  • Prioritize hiring requests and monitor recruitment metrics such as time-to-fill and closures.
  • Identify, escalate and resolve any bottlenecks or constraints in the recruitment process.
  • Manage the Talent Search team leads and ensure timely operations and support for SRF special recruitment searches.
  • Monitor the life cycle of the volunteer journey to ensure volunteers feel engaged and valued.
  • Oversee and guide the Team Leads Support and Events Team process in collaboration with Co-Leads.
  • Ensure proactive planning and timely approvals for various special annual celebratory events.
  • Communicate monthly events with target audiences via various channels.
  • Develop new and innovative ideas for special online events to engage volunteers.
  • Oversee and guide Volunteer Management System operations and VMS Coaching process.
  • Support the People Systems Consultant in monitoring VMS related tickets and resolving bottlenecks.
  • Assist and guide the VMS Coaches Co-Leads in managing the VMS Coach process.
  • Track and analyze key performance metrics to foster excellence and provide support.
  • Serve as a backup to department leaders when needed.
  • Undertake other relevant role-related tasks as assigned.

  • Proficiency with Google Workspace, MS Office and Zoom video-conferencing software.
  • Ability to nurture a culture of service, harmony and Guru Seva.
  • College degree in Psychology, Sociology, HR or related field.
  • Prior non-profit operations experience.
  • Familiarity with project management.
  • Exposure to multinational / multicultural work environments.
  • Demonstrated leadership in supervising cross-functional teams.
  • Flexible working hours during US business hours.
