About The Position

About the Position: The City of Grand Junction Parks Department, Horticulture Division is creating a volunteer program. Our volunteers will have the opportunity to engage in our most visually stunning landscapes. Focusing on Downtown (Top 10 Downtowns in the country according to USA Today), volunteers will work alongside our horticulture team to produce and maintain landscapes of our over 60,000 annuals and perennials. Primary tasks will include planting, trimming, weeding, watering, and fertilizing of downtown landscapes. Opportunities could include assistance in the greenhouse, our container garden programs, and work in native landscapes. Volunteers will assist on Wednesday mornings, each week, for 2-4 hours, February - October. Gardening experience will be required. We will be interviewing to select 6 candidates for our 2026 program.
