About The Position

The City of Safford, Arizona is looking for qualified candidates to fill the role of Volunteer Firefighter. This position involves responding to emergency calls and participating in regular meetings and practices. Candidates must be available 24/7 and live within a three-mile radius of the fire department. Requirements

• Must live within a three-mile radius of the City of Safford Fire Department.
• Firefighter I and II certifications preferred but not required.
• Ability to perform firefighting duties under various conditions.
• Availability for call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
• Must pass a physical examination, drug/alcohol screening, MVD record check, and fingerprinting.

Nice To Haves

• Previous firefighting experience or training.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency calls as a Volunteer Firefighter.
• Attend regular meetings and practices of the Fire Department.
• Maintain a minimum attendance of 33.3% for meetings, practices, and fire calls to retain membership.
• Participate in training and drills to enhance firefighting skills.
