Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in volunteer coordination, hospice care, or human services preferred.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and database management systems.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance required.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, interview, onboard, and place hospice volunteers in appropriate assignments.
• Plan and lead volunteer training sessions to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, including volunteer files, hours, and assignments.
• Match volunteers with patients and families based on needs, availability, and compatibility.
• Provide ongoing support, recognition, and education for volunteers.
• Coordinate volunteer schedules in collaboration with clinical teams.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and care planning as appropriate.
• Monitor volunteer satisfaction and performance through regular check-ins and evaluations.
• Organize volunteer appreciation events and recognition initiatives.
