About The Position

The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of our organization's volunteer program. They will oversee the recruitment, placement, and orientation of volunteers, while ensuring that their roles are fulfilling and that they feel valued and involved. They will also oversee the donation center.

Requirements

  • Must have valid Oregon Driver's license; must have been a licensed driver for at least 2 years; must have a driving record that permits coverage under C@P’s company insurance.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates’ Degree or equivalent experience in the volunteer/non-profit field.
  • A minimum of two years of previous non-profit, community engagement, or volunteer organization experience preferred.
  • Excellent technical language skills, both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential matters and sensitive information.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google, Zoom, etc.; Experience or capacity for technology related to presentations and meetings.
  • Able to receive direction and independently follow tasks through with minimum supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the application process is efficient and user-friendly.
  • Oversee the administration of potential volunteers & interns, including recruiting, onboarding, training, and placing volunteers.
  • Partner with chaplains and site leadership on volunteer placement and activities.
  • Place volunteers in roles best suited to their skills and interests.
  • Schedule, organize, and lead volunteer & intern orientations.
  • Clearly communicate to potential volunteers C@P’s mission and vision as well as expectations and boundaries.
  • Manage the donation center, integrating with the staff, volunteers, and participants to understand their needs and improve the overall experience for everyone involved.
  • Focus on volunteer engagement: provide feedback, ensure they feel involved, and address concerns to maintain volunteer retention.
  • Plan and organize regular volunteer recognition and appreciation events.
  • Provide documentation for SNAP, Medicaid, and others needing to complete community service.
  • Attend bi-weekly meetings with Director of Communications, regular meetings with communications team, Chaplains, and program leadership.
  • Meet with site management and other staff regularly to give and receive feedback concerning volunteers and provide access to volunteer schedules
  • Be on-call to manage and support volunteers, being responsible for the designated volunteer coordination phone.
  • Stay updated with volunteer & intern-related information on the website, ensuring relevance and accuracy.
  • Understand and communicate C@P mission, vision, and values to new partners & volunteers.
  • Communicate opportunities for volunteer, donations, interns and program partnership to churches, colleges, and businesses.
  • Coordinate with the Communications Team on presentations to community members and follow-up needed to partner churches and businesses.
