About The Position

The School-Based Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for working collaboratively with the School Principals to place and monitor volunteers in learning and enrichment activities in order to support student achievement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • The ability to communicate with , supervise and empower volunteers to be effective in their roles
  • Experience with the coordination of volunteers
  • The ability to work cooperatively with a variety of personalities
  • The ability to maintain a district volunteer database

Responsibilities

  • Manage Excel database of more than 1,300 district-wide volunteers.
  • Manage BCIs for all volunteers.
  • Provide orientation to new volunteers and ongoing training as needed.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with administration, school principals, educators, and parents.
  • Maintain effective communication with volunteers.
  • Organize yearly Volunteer Appreciation events.
  • Assist with planning Career Day at the Barrington High/Middle School.
  • Assist with internships at the Barrington High School.
  • Other duties as required.
